Saving Grace, My Rating: 3.5 Stars
I liked this! It was more gripping and less ‘fluffy’ than I expected. In amongst the thriller-style plot of the main character being deliberately ousted from her own life by a too good to be true interloper, there were themes of mental illness, family, home, fear, big pharma, safety and relationships with mothers.
I found the recipes ending many of the chapters a bit tiresome and skipped over them especially as the ingredients and measurements were US-style (cups rather than weight). I know the main character was passionate about cooking, and that the recipes were mentioned in the chapter, but I didn’t feel these added much to the story.
